For this question I produced a parody of 'The Office' and took a documentary crew on a tour of the "Conventions Department" in which the eccentric conventions team highlighted how my film fits the conventions of the genre and the conventions of a short film. However, I felt, whilst creative, there wasn't enough detail in the video, so I decided to make a presentation to accompany the video to fill in some of the gaps of some theorists that I used and were only glossed over and more on why I followed conventions of the genre, sub-genre and short films when making 'Desire Evil' to answer the question of: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real life media products?
Question 2: Ancillary Tasks
For this question, I produced a radio show with the poster designer and the reviewer arguing which of their creations most effectively combines with my film. However I felt that this wasn't creative enough, as a result I made a parody of the late night show 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' and had a Dubai prince who is also the poster designer on and talk about his poster and the reviewer talk about the review and how they combine effectively, there is more detail included also. This is an addition to the radio show and not a replacement. Overall I felt that my ancillary tasks did combine effectively with my film due to them following the same aesthetic of the film and overall reflecting the story and message of the film through images incorporated into the poster and through the review critiquing the message and story of the film, but in the end recommending and praising it, which makes it effective. Identically, the poster is also promoting the film. The poster, review and the film are similar enough to be associated and combine effectively whilst also being unique and great in their own right due to subtle differences such as in colour schemes being different shades of red or there being nothing overly obvious like a still frame from the film in the poster. More detail can be found in the two videos that I produced to answer the question of: How effective was the combination of your main product and your ancillary texts?
Question 3: Audience Feedback
I followed up my time travel evaluation from AS with a sequel in A2 with more special effects, (slightly) better acting and more detail and better editing, in which present me tells passt me what to do to avoid being humiliated by negative audience feedback and to save time, also in order to improve the things that present me couldn't because it's feedback I got on my final draft, after being told to do so by future me. A homage of 'Back to the Future' (1985) one of my favourite films.
Question 4: Digital Technology
For the digital technology question I produced a parody of a YouTube top 10 videos, more specifically a YouTuber called Top 15s who has a weird voice. However this was the shortest of my evaluations and wasn't very creative and didn't have a lot of detail at all, and didn't fully answer the question that involved what technologies I used in my evaluations and research and planning which I did not highlight. Therefore I made a second accompanying video with more detail and is a more creative production and is in the form of a tech show ran by two nerds on the internet, it includes more detail too as not only is what they're saying more detailed and thorough that the first video but there's also fun facts that pop up every now and again about the technology used, like a real tech show has throughout their shows. These videos answer the question of: How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
